The Plantation to The Famine: One of the saddest periods in a troubled history,when thousands upon thousands died of disease and hunger and this coupled with emigration led to the population of Ireland being reduced by almost a half.

Lough Foyle provided the anchorage for the American liners in the early 1900s and this was the departure point for emigrants from Donegal, Derry Tyrone and further afield

1960's :The coming of electricity plus the introduction of machinery on the land signalled the beginning of a new way of life on the irish countryside.
